We've written about the wonders of sling bags for the ultimate outdoor adventure diaper bag before. It all started with the JJ Cole sling diaper bag because we owned one and loved it. Sadly you can't buy them any more. JJ Cole cut it from their product line and the only thing that soothes our heartache is our unrelenting quest for a similarly awesome, good looking, functional sling bag.

Well, we've stumbled upon some good news, and Patagonia's Atom sling bag scores some big points . . .

If hanging out outside isn't about food and happiness, then what is it about? I'm sure we all know that the magical combination of graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow is the near-ultimate manifestation of happiness in food. On my list, s'mores rank third after mint chocolate chip ice cream and my wife's homemade brownies, neither of which can we replicate on a campfire. S'mores have the upper hand there.

The GoCrib just might make the perfect travel crib for camping, road trips, or weekends at the cabin
The GoCrib - oh, sweet GoCrib, where were you when I needed you?  It packs down into a backpack and weighs a total of 11 lbs.  (Travel Lite Crib?  Yeah, that weighs 20 lbs and takes up more space than a set of golf clubs when it's packed). I love the idea that you just pump it up with the supplied air pump.  It wins points for simplicity.  It's often that the simplest design is the best. I also highly approve of the small pack size.

Maybe it was foolishness, but it was like we wanted to set things straight with Chloe even before she was born.  Just 6 months into the whole bun-baking thing they call pregnancy, Brooke and I drove down the Baja peninsula with my parents.  We camped on lonesome beaches, ate like we didn't deserve it, toured 17th Century missions built from stone, got up close and personal with giant gray whales in Laguna Ojo de Liebre --- your standard Baja adventure stuff. Mexico being what it is brought us a number of other adventures we couldn't have fabricated. Like the exploding transmission in the Range Rover . . .
