Camera: Canon 5D | Lens: EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM | Setting: f/16, 1/100th sec, ISO 100 A storm hit southern Utah on August 20th and it blasted a section of trail that gets you onto (or out of) the phenomenal White Rim Trail in Canyonlands National Park. In particular, one of the switch backs of Mineral Bottom Road has been virtually erased from existence. I have permits for a three night adventure on this road in early September, but those plans must change. Anyone who intended to travel the road between now and sometime in October - when they say the road will be fixed - will have to alter their plans by either driving in and out the same way rather than making the loop, or doing something else all together. I suspect The Needles District will get slammed.
Here's another really cool (for lack of a better word) photo of the washout on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24548686@N00/4911750681/ |
