Gorilla torch Joby LED flashlight

Check this out.  So I'm at Eddie Bauer one night trying to buy pants, burn up this gift card I've been sitting on for a year.

Then I see, "You may also like."  Suggested items. And I fell for it.  BUT LOOK AT THIS THING.  It's a flashlight with bendy feet.  Bendy magnetic feet. As if it couldn't get any better.

I just had to buy it because I couldn't restrain my curiosity.  Bendy magnetic feet.

It's the Joby "Gorilla Torch."  Or maybe it's Gorillatorch.  Gorilla?  Torch?  Yeah, are you thinking a late night TV sales pitch, too?  "It's strong like a gorilla!  It's bright like a torch!  It's only $30! Will that be Visa or MasterCard?"

This Gorilla Torch flashlight uses an efficient light emitting diode (LED) and also features a dimmer; the maximum 65 lumens / 1 watt lasts for 20 hours, more if dimmed down a smidge.  It runs on 3 AA batteries.  Joby asserts that the unit is water resistant as well.

For those of us saps who like the idea of just leaving this light attached to the fender overnight just to experience a moment of glee first thing in the morning at the sight of a flashlight stuck to the truck by bendy magnetic feet, foul weather won't even dissuade.

Lighting up our kitchen by reflecting the light off the bottom of the roof top tent. Not too bad, eh?
Damned clever flashlight! Air-up in the dark, just slap that light to the fender sheetmetal and your world gets a little brighter and easier.
So, let's go back to those bendy magnetic feet.  And speaking of leaving the light outside, you ever left something on your roof or hood or bumper and driven away?  Losing this light to that kind of mistake is going to be hard - as faithfully reminded with a solid THUNK when those magnetic feet grab onto some steel.

What else do you need me to tell you?  Just look at the pictures instead.

Left: attached to the Frontier's sheetmetal and reflected off the base of the roof top tent

Right: superb illumination for a late night air-up.

Thirty bucks.  Not bad, right?  I want a whole box-full of these puppies.

Ah, by the way, buying pants online is a bad idea.  The pants didn't fit well, but the flashlight sure did make me happy.

Get one from REI: Joby Gorillatorch LED Flashlight (with awesome bendy legs!)

Disclosure: I received nothing - no cash, no credit, no free goods - for posting this.
