There's no app for this one. Your phone won't register any bars.  Email?  Twitter?  Forget them. When you come to the White Rim Trail, all your virtual friends, followers and likers will just have to wait to hear from you until you're done traveling the bouncy, dirty, rocky, sandy 100 miles that is the White Rim Trail.

That's the whole appeal. When I first brought it up to my friends, it went something like this:

"What do you guys think, White Rim Trail or go somewhere else?"

"Oh yeah, don't miss it."

"It's awesome, you'll dig it."

"Don't tell me you came all this way just to pass up the WRT."

And then one final smug bozo in the peanut gallery spoke up, "It's just a dirt road." And then ducked for cover.

Just a dirt road? See for yourself. We used up three nights driving this trail because, gee, what's the hurry?
