Tomorrow we leave for Amado, Arizona for the 2010 Overland Expo.  Not even a year after starting this blog and we're already participating in our first trade show/exposition by invitation - someone noticed what we're doing here. We get to conduct a few classes about what helps us travel as a family; I'll also moderate a panel of other parents for a Q&A.  In general, we're going to dissect, entertain, and wonder outloud about the great question: how do you take your kids on once-in-a-lifetime trips and not go absolutely nuts?

Well, truthfully, that is the quest.

I shot this picture in January outside of Ajo, Arizona on our way to Mexico.  I've been browsing around my photos for the last hour wondering what I should post here tonight.  This one seemed right.

Because it feels like a new day.

I don't know.  Maybe it's all connected.

Hey Mark, it was good to meet you at the EXPO(I was with Erin). I finally got the opportuity to check out your website and you have some good info on here. I must say, we have a 1 1/2 year old daughter and have had her camping many times already and it is nice to hear that someone else experiences the same challenges that we do!

It would be great to get out on a trip with you guys. Usually we are the only couple with a kid and it feels sometimes like we are holding up or disturbing the no-kid people. I am working on getting Erin back into overlanding and getting out camping with his little one.

Again, great website, keep it up!

Tim, thanks for the note! Erin was always a minimalist camper and this fatherhood business is going to really stretch his definition of minimalist now. :)

If you plan a trip, contact me direct so I don't miss it mstephens@adventureparent s.com or 480-365-9106

Thanks!
