From us to you, good reader, a New Year wish. The place to be on this recent New Year's Eve, for us and an assortment of friends anyway, was a far off slice of beach on the Sea of Cortés down in ol' Mexico. And we couldn't stop thinking of you. It's a place that's good for kids, clean and empty, and as relaxing or as adventurous as you want it to be. The Spanish message here was supposed to be longer. Like viva la playa en su corazón y su vida. Not sure that's correctly stated, and that would have been more work than these people were willing to accept from me. Nevertheless, may your heart be as happy as a day on the beach.

The alternative, I'll have you know, was going to be toes in the water, ass in the sand to ring in 2012 but that didn't quite carry the chill vibration I wanted to send out to the incredibly foxy babes and handsome dudes who read AdventureParents.com (that's you!). And someone said that's already in a song somewhere anyway.

Ahhh man DOOD!! You're killing me! So you really don't worry about traveling to Mexico? We used to spend New Years camping on the beach in Puerto Penasco but I have no friends willing to travel there now. And I used to drive it alone. But not anymore. :(

Not to be disrespectful about those who have been killed in Mexico, but the statistics show Mexico is mostly dangerous to people involved in illegal trade. In 2010 111 US citizens were murdered in Mexico AND less than 5 were tourists. All the others were involved in less than good activities. 50%+ of the 111 were killed in either Tijuana or CD Juarez. New York City alone had over 500 murders in 2010.

I agree. I was trying to be lighthearted in my comment but conveying syntax via typed words doesn't get it. I love the many pics of Mexico and I am glad for the written reports of your familys' adventures! :)
