I swear this is true. I woke up in the dark morning hours on Sunday to the alarm of rainfall on my tent fly. Then I remembered that I left the passenger window down, which is such an awesome feeling when it's cold and raining. I dropped an F-bomb, braced myself for the cold air, and wiggled out of my sleeping bag with a hopeful speed that it'd still be warm when I returned. When I stepped out of the tent, all this rain-like stuff was falling on my head but I wasn't getting wet - and that just confused me. I was like, "What's falling out of the trees?" Think about that. I was hardly awake and I just couldn't put two and two together. "The hell kind of rain is this?"
Well, it's the kind of rain that's perfect for going pee in the middle of the night, of course.
So I unzipped, squirted the ground with the previous evening's libations - or what remained after my kidneys did their thing - and finally saw the white fluffy stuff everywhere. It all made sense.
A midnight pee is so . . . enchanting, isn't it? Ah, no, sorry, I meant the first snow day, not a midnight pee. My goodness.
