I know, it looks so sweet and fun and lively and perfect.
Well, I hate to crash that thought but I must. We were camped a little ways from a fire lookout tower and really wanted to go check it out. The little halfings would have loved it. We're talking three families, each with small children. You'd have thought that the vibe would have been there. We're all marching down this dirt road in the forest laughing, getting some vitamin D, and holding the kids' hands.
When one of them - just one - said, "I don't want to walk! Carry me!" that popped the cork. The other toddling hatchlings fell in line, raised their arms into the air and just assumed the position. Pick me up, pick me up, pick me up.
Ania, with the braid (um, she didn't mind walking), found that dandelion along the road. She summoned Chloe and Keeley - the two little ones here - and shared it with them. That got those girls motivated to keep walking for a little while. Okay, so it really is sweet and fun and lively and perfect.
